FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Payment, Registration, and Course FAQs
Does your course meet the New York State requirements?
Yes. We are an approved provider authorized by the New York State Department of Education. Our courses meet the requirements for the School Violence Prevention and Intervention Workshop, the Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect Workshop, or Needs of Students with Autism Training.
How much do the courses cost?
How can I pay for the course?
You can pay for the course using your Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover credit card. If your debit card has a Visa or Mastercard logo on it, you may also use it. We also accept PayPal, and for those outside the country or without a credit or debit card, we also accept payment through Western Union, or you can contact us for other arrangements, such as payment by mail.
Will my personal information be safe?
Yes. Our site adheres to the strictest security measures. Your personal information will not be shared with any third party.
I am not in the U.S. May I still take the course?
Of course. We accept credit cards from all countries for payment, and we can send your certificate of completion via email anywhere in the world. If you do not have a credit card, Western Union has offices all over the world where you can send your payment to us.
What is the clock at the top of the course page for?
There is a timer that records time spent per chapter and a second timer that records total time for the course. The State of New York requires that you must spend at least two hours on the course. The clock is a timer that ensures you spend at least the minimum required.
Do I have to complete the course all at once or within a certain period of time?
No. Start and stop as many times as you wish. The timer keeps track of both total time and time spent on each chapter. Take as long as you want to complete the course.
Is there a test at the end of the course?
Yes. There is a small multiple-choice review/quiz. On the Child Abuse Workshop and Violence Workshop, it is not graded. For the Needs of Students With Autism Course, you must make 60%, but you may take the quiz multiple times if you do not pass the first time.
How do I get my course completion on my TEACH account?
We submit your certificate electronically the next working day after you complete the workshop, and usually the staff at the NYSED will then update your TEACH account within two working days. If you have not yet created a TEACH account, you can do so at www.highered.nysed.gov/tcert/teach/. If your TEACH account has not been updated within one week after you complete the course, please follow the directions at www.childabuseworkshop.com/TEACH.
How do I get my certificate?
Usually you print your own certificate as soon as you complete the course, or have it emailed to you. You may also have the certficate sent via postal mail, in which case it will arrive in 7 to 10 business days.
After I print my certificate, when do I get my "real" certificate?
The certificate that you print yourself is the "real" certificate. If you request a mailed certificate, it will be identical to the certificate you print yourself. We simply print out the exact same document you do and then mail it to you. The state will accept your self-printed certificate. We offer mailed certificates only for those customers that do not have a printer.
I don't have Adobe Acrobat on my computer - Can you help me install it so I can print my own certificate?
We suggest you use the email option if your do not have Acrobat. We are unable to help you with installing Adobe Acrobat. Should you wish to install it yourself, it is available at http://get.adobe.com/reader/. If you do this, please read the instructions carefully - there are other optional software packages that are installed by default, but you can choose to not download them.
What do I do with my certificate once I print it?
The first page includes detailed instructions.
Do I have to send anything back to you?
No. Please do not send anything back to us.
I have lost my certificate. What can I do?
